Grocery Products CALIPAN Inc. emerged 40 years ago as a small bakery located in the center of the city of Cali, which it were produced Pandeyucas by a short and entirely handmade process.
The initial goal of training by its founders was to construct and forewarn a homestead which later becomes a life project, which took the form of family business.

Initially branded as Barby products, the donuts were distributed locally, while consolidating and growing the company.
By the early eighties the need arises to penetrate new markets, which was given a new image to the product leader, improved quality packaging and grant the current name of CALEÑAS DONUT ®.

From the time of the nineties it was designed and built the plant, was invested in distribution channels and began to use advertising media. In 1995 the plant was purchased fried foods in order to diversify production and expand the product portfolio.

In the year 1,999 with the purchase of an extruder machine began the manufacture of expanded corn, by the year 2,002 the company in view of the large number of references made from traditional Caleñas Donuts decides to change its name to FOOD PRODUCTS CALIPAN SA but always keeping in each of their references the traditional symbol Caleñas ®.

Today CALIPAN SA Food Products is a company dedicated to making all kinds of snacks, with about 60 references scattered throughout the Colombia south-western. Generate 100 direct jobs and about 200 indirect jobs. The company over the years has made possession several brands, which like all of the company is duly registered.

By the year 2002 the company had big changes at the structural and marketing as they opened their first hot donuts outlet in the EXITO SAN FERNANDO Mall, called HOT CALEÑAS DONUT, in these outlets the product is offered to customers just out of oven, seeing the great success of the market it were open other outlets in different places of the city like UNICO shopping center, HOLGUINES TRADE CENTER, LLANO GRANDE SHOPPING MALL & SMALL CENTER road crossing DAPA YUMBO. Internally there was a big change in implementing the Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) with the support of the SENA and the technical and professional Javeriana University Direction, which allowed the company to improve the quality and safety of products, creating awareness at operational & management level, improve the physical facilities of the company and obtain an environment of continuous improvement, the company currently continuing with the implementation of GMP and they are in progress to the preconditions for the implementation of ISO 9001.
